Gift of the Givers will begin the distribution of aid to areas affected by flooding around the Cape Flats on Friday.
The group said it has been inundated with calls from communities struck hard by inclement weather this week.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rain and damaging winds for parts of the Western Cape this week.
Forecaster Tokelo Chiloane said another cold front is expected to make landfall in the Western Cape on Friday.
“We’re just having a series of cold fronts that are going to be passing through the Western Cape and for me, from a meteorological perspective, this is a good thing for the Western Cape because that’s when they get most of their rainfall during this time from this cold front. So, for them it is a plus one.”
