Here Is Why South African Police Chased A Zimbabwean Bus With A Helicopter And Guns

A video has gone viral online in which the South African police chased a Zimbabwean bus with a helicopter and guns.

The High-Speed Chase

In the chilling video, the bus driver had figured that he could not escape any further from the South African Police Service (SAPS) chopper that was hovering frighteningly close to his bus. The blue M.A.R.Z Trans bus had parked on the side of the N1.

The helicopter, which had been following the bus, descended and landed some metres from the tarred road. Dangling on the chopper were police officers hoisting rifles, much to the terror of the Zimbabwean passengers aboard.

The passengers took out their phones to record the helicopter circling above them in a deafening, thrumming sound.

South African police officers with cars managed to catch up with the bus after it parked.

The bus was heading to Zimbabwe, and the driver encountered a police roadblock along the N1.

The cops requested the driver’s license. He was in the inner lane, and since he was blocking traffic, he allegedly decided to move a bit to park in the outer lane. Reports suggest he could not find a passage close by to move to the outer lane, and he parked far from the checkpoint.

The cops accused him of attempting to flee, and on request for his driver’s license, the driver declined. After a scuffle, he pressed the accelerator and drove away. The chase ensued, and a chopper trailed him until he gave up and parked. The cops then made the driver return to Johannesburg and impounded the vehicle.
