From September 21 to October 12, 2024, the Department of Home Affairs will open its offices for five hours per day on Saturdays to issue Temporary Identity Certificates, collect IDs, and provide application services.
During this time, matriculants and students will be given priority.
Offices will be open between 08h00 and 13h00.
“This effort is specifically designed to allow matriculants to write their examinations, which is the first step toward economic empowerment for young people. We advise matriculants and their parents to visit the nearest Home Affairs office or the location where they applied,” said Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber.
The government has encouraged those who applied for identification documents and received SMS alerts to take advantage of this chance by going to their local Home Affairs office for collection.
