Hopewell Chin’ono Weighs in on Viral Lula Lula Scandal Involving Equatorial Guinea Politician Baltasar Ebang Engonga
Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono has weighed in on the trending ‘lula lula’ scandal surrounding Equatorial Guinea politician Baltasar Ebang Engonga.
Baltasar Ebang Engonga, CEO of Equatorial Guinea’s National Agency for Financial Investigation (ANIF) is trending on social media after over 400 of his bedroom videos smashing people’s wives were leaked on the internet.
His lula lula escapades reportedly include high-profile figures: the wives of cabinet ministers, the Director of Presidential Security’s wife, the attorney general’s wife, the daughter of the Director General of Police, his godfather’s wife, his bodyguard’s wife, 15 friends of his younger sister, his pastor’s wife, his uncle’s pregnant wife, and even his younger brother’s wife.

Hopewell Chin’ono Questions Engonga’s Mental State Over Scandalous Affairs
Taking to his X account, Hopewell Chin’ono argued that Baltasar Ebang Engonga is mentally ill. He stated that no man in his right mind would sleep with his uncle’s pregnant wife, brother’s wife, and cousin.
“This guy is mentally ill. You cannot sleep with your cousin (hanzvadzi) in Africa, your uncle’s pregnant wife, and your brother’s wife and be considered normal!.”
He argued that Baltasar Ebang Engonga’s behavior suggests deeper psychological issues and that he may need psychiatric help.
“The behavior is not only alarming, it is indicative of deeper psychological issues that require psychiatric help.
Engaging in s*xual relationships with close family members is not only taboo in many cultures, but it will also have severe emotional and social consequences on everyone involved including the spouses of these people.”
Reflecting on his documentary State of Mind, Hopewell Chin’ono noted disturbing cases involving women engaging in relationships with their fathers-in-law. He described these men’s actions as thrill-seeking, while expressing confusion over why the women participated in such “deranged activities.”
“When I made State of Mind, I came across cases of women who slept with their fathers in law, for these sick men, it is thrill seeking, for the women, I don’t even understand why they engage in such deranged activities.
But certainly power and money plays a big role in many of these cases!.”

Hopewell Chin’ono bemoans how scores of men are hailing Baltasar Bang Engonga as a real man for sleeping with multiple women and raving about his scandal.
“It is sad that many men are seeing this guy as some kind of power child hero, this guy has mental issues because once you sleep with your cousin in Africa, you have a serious problem.”
