Minnie Baloyi-Chiwenga Warns Zimbabweans Against Name-dropping Scam
In the post, Baloyi-Chiwenga implored Zimbabweans to be vigilant, emphasising that if someone who owes them money drops her name, it’s likely a tactic to dodge payment for services rendered. She urged her followers to report whoever would have dropped her name so that they could be arrested and face the full wrath of the law.
“WARNING‼️ There is a certain businesswoman going about lying about being my friend and threatening people. If anyone owes you money and name drops my name as an excuse for not paying for services rendered, please get them arrested,” Minnie Baloyi-Chiwenga wrote.

Baloyi-Chiwenga Reassures Zimbabweans
She went on to reassure her followers that she would never take advantage of her position as the Vice President’s wife to get out of paying for a service. She emphasised that such behaviour goes against her personal principles. Baloyi-Chiwenga clarified that just because she might have taken a picture with someone or worked with them on a project it does not automatically make them her friend nor does it permit them to mistreat others.
“I will never abuse my standing whatsoever, if I hire anyone to do any job for me I pay them. It is against my principles not to do so, regardless of who I may think I am. The fact that I might have taken a photo with someone or worked with them on a project doesn’t make them my friend, nor does it give them a right to bully others ……🙏,” she concluded her statement on Facebook.
