Jay-Z And His Lawyer File Motion To Dismiss Lawsuit After Accuser Lies In Her Testimony

Jay-Z and his lawyers have officially stated their intent to file a motion to dismiss a recent lawsuit accusing the rapper of s_xual assault over two decades ago. The claims were brought forward by an anonymous individual identified as “Jane Doe.”

In a letter submitted to a New York court, Jay-Z’s legal team referenced a recent NBC investigative report highlighting discrepancies in the accuser’s testimony. These inconsistencies have raised significant doubts about the credibility of the allegations. Jane Doe, who claims to have been assaulted at an event 24 years ago, admitted to errors in her original statements, acknowledging that certain details remain unclear.

Discrepancies in the Accuser’s Account

One key inconsistency is that Jane Doe claimed that her father picked her up after the alleged incident. However, her father has denied this. Additionally, she stated she had interacted with musician Benji Madden at the event, though Madden was reportedly not in New York then.

Jay-Z’s attorney criticized Jane Doe’s legal representation, specifically attorney Anthony Buzbee, for allegedly failing to properly investigate the claims before filing the lawsuit.

“Given today’s revelations, Mr. Buzbee clearly did not conduct a reasonable inquiry into the facts. This lawsuit should never have been filed.”

Jay-Z Speaks Out

In a strongly worded public statement, Jay-Z dismissed the allegations as baseless. He released a statement on social medi saying:

“Today’s investigative report proves this ‘attorney’ Buzbee filed a false complaint against me in the pursuit of money and fame. This incident didn’t happen and yet he filed it in court and doubled down in the press. True justice is coming. We fight FROM victory, not FOR victory. This was over before it began. This 1-800 lawyer doesn’t realize it yet, but, soon.”

His lawyer, Alex Spiro, echoed these sentiments, stating that they are calling for the court to dismiss this frivolous case immediately and will seek disciplinary action against Mr. Buzbee and others involved.”

The Allegations and the Legal Battle Ahead

Jane Doe’s lawsuit alleges that Jay-Z, alongside Diddy, assaulted her at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000. The accuser, represented by Texas attorney Tony Buzbee, has faced sharp criticism from Jay-Z, who referred to Buzbee as a “deplorable human” seeking fame and financial gain through false accusations.

Jay-Z has categorically denied all claims, stating,

“You have made a grave mistake in assuming that I am like every other celebrity. I come from the streets of Brooklyn, where we uphold strict codes of honour and protect our children. These baseless allegations exploit others for personal gain and are an affront to those who truly seek justice.”
