A Zimbabwean man, Obert Moyo, deemed a danger to women by law enforcement, has been sentenced to a minimum of 27 years in prison for the brutal murder of Perseverance Ncube, a devoted mother of two.
Obert Moyo’s History Of Stalking Before The Fatal Murder
Authorities revealed that Moyo had unlawfully entered her residence following a prolonged period of stalking. Despite her children, aged 10 and 12, valiantly attempting to fend him off, Moyo succeeded in carrying out the fatal attack.
Perseverance Ncube, affectionately known as Percy, was described by her family as a caring and devoted mother.
Moyo, residing on Pennington Road, Bolton, initially denied the accusations but altered his plea to guilty at the commencement of his trial.
The court proceedings unveiled a harrowing tale of Moyo’s relentless stalking and aggression towards Ms Ncube after their separation.

Initially assaulting her within the confines of her own bedroom, Moyo was forcibly removed by her children. He then pursued Ms Ncube onto the street, where he inflicted the fatal wound.
Eloise Marshall KC, the prosecutor, recounted the chilling 999 call where the anguished cries of Ms. Ncube’s children echoed in the background, one of them desperately praying for her survival.
Moyo fled the scene but was swiftly apprehended in Bolton later that same day.
The Children’s Heart-Wrenching Testimony
In a heart-rending victim impact statement, Ms Ncube’s son lamented the irreplaceable loss, expressing the profound agony of being deprived of his mother’s presence.
“Every day with a burning pain, I miss her, I miss being able to hug her. I miss being able to talk to her. Mum, I miss you and I will always love you.”
Similarly, her daughter directed a scathing rebuke towards Moyo, holding him accountable for the devastation wrought upon their lives.
“You have stolen my mum from me. I really thought that you were a father to me but you are not… I hate you.”
Judge Patrick Field KC, in delivering the sentencing, condemned Moyo’s actions as premeditated, vicious, and morally reprehensible.

Obert Moyo’s Sentencing and Previous Crimes
Moyo, already on parole at the time of the murder, had previously served a 14-year sentence imposed by Lewes Crown Court in January 2013.
Greater Manchester Police characterized Moyo as a dangerous individual unwilling to accept the end of his relationship with Percy.
Det Ch Insp Gina Brennand praised the bravery of Ms. Ncube’s children and underscored the support provided by their close-knit family.
Percy, remembered for her vibrant personality and cherished within her church community, leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience.
