Joburg EMS appeals to community to safeguard children after Freedom Park drowning incident

Joburg Emergency Services has appealed to the community to safeguard children.

This follows the drowning of a young boy in Freedom Park.

It’s understood the young boy went missing on Thursday evening at around 8 pm after playing with friends.

EMS extracted water and sewer from the drainage, leading to the recovery of the body.

“EMS continues to plead with parents of children to please ensure that children are safeguarded at all times, please teach them not to play in water drainages,” said EMS spokesperson Xolile Khumalo.
