EFF leader Julius Malema has recently fueled divorce after making a notable change on social media. The politician has removed all photos of his wife, Mantwa Matlala Malema, from his Instagram account. This unexpected action has left many of his followers and the public questioning their relationship status.
The Citizen has reportedly reached out to Malema’s representatives for clarification, but no official comment has been received at the time of writing.

A Decade of Marriage
Julius Malema and Mantwa Matlala tied the knot in a private ceremony back in 2014. The couple, known for keeping their personal life largely out of the public eye, is set to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary on December 27, 2024. Over the years, their union has been marked by the birth of two sons, Kopano and Munzhedzi, who are often seen in Malema’s social media posts.
In addition to his two younger children, Malema is also the father of a son, Ratanang, born in 2006 from a previous relationship.

In a recent appearance on Awkward Dates with Lasizwe, a YouTube series, Julius Malema opened up about his relationship with Mantwa. When asked why he mentioned his wife during their lighthearted conversation, he responded, “We are one thing — when the two become one. So, I can’t leave her out.”
The EFF leader also revealed the most romantic gesture he has ever made, recounting the moment he proposed.
