Justice Minister Thembi Simelane is urging law enforcement to ensure that those behind the shooting of Advocate Coreth Naude are brought to book.
On Thursday, two unknown assailants opened fire on Naude outside a hotel parking lot in uMhlanga in Durban.
Naude who is recovering in hospital is representing the South African Revenue Service in a tax inquiry involving controversial businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize.
Spokesperson Tsekiso Machike said the minister described the attack on Naude as cowardly.
“The minister is of the view that this incident is a serious threat to the principles of justice and the rule of law. She has implored law enforcement agencies to make sure that they leave no stone unturned.”
