Khama Billiat Shares Plans for R117K Gifted by President Mnangagwa for AFCON 2025 Qualification
Zimbabwe’s senior men’s national football team and technical staff have plenty to celebrate after President Emmerson Mnangagwa rewarded each member with an impressive US$6,500 for securing their spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Finals in Morocco.
The Warriors squad, led by coach Michael Nees, visited State House on Tuesday, accompanied by Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Kazembe Kazembe.

Khama Billiat Reflects on How to Spend US$6.5K Gifted by President
Veteran forward Khama Billiat shared his excitement after receiving the honour.
“I think were are so happy. We’re so happy. We’re able to be here to be recognised and to have the President showing love and taking time for this. We truly appreciate and we feel so humble. We’re happy and the support is just amazing,” he told ZiFM Stereo.
When asked how he plans to use the money, Billiat admitted he needed time to decide.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do,” he joked before continuing, “No of course it’s a lot of money. A lot of money needs you to have a lot of time of thinking.”

President Mnangagwa Rewards Warriors with $6,500 Each for AFCON Qualification
President Mnangagwa commended the team for their determination and teamwork, highlighting the importance of their qualification for the 2025 AFCON.
“Their display of teamwork, determination, and patriotism serves as an inspiration to all, particularly our young people, reminding us that with hard work and belief, anything is possible,” he said.
He also promised continued support for the national team as they prepare for the AFCON Finals.
