Khosi Twala clears the air on her R1.8 million prize money as other housemates didn’t get paid

Khosi Twala has set the record straight on receiving her US$100,000 (R1.8m) cash prize after being crowned the winner of Big Brother Titans on April 2 2023.

This amid former contestants from the season, Blessing “Nana” Basheru and Justin Peters, alluding to not having been paid for their weekly game prizes.

“I’m gonna mention some brand names by tomorrow because they need to pay up haba 1 year after the show and you guys haven’t paid, is it fair?” Nana wrote on her X timeline.

“Imagine sponsoring new shows when you still owe people money. Scammers will stay scamming,” Justin wrote.

After Khosi was questioned about her winning prize, she shared a screenshot of her bank statement to prove she received her money.

“When I woke up this morning I saw there was a back and forth about having received my money and all of that. When I didn’t receive my money I was very outspoken about it, so I think it’s also fair that I make it clear.

“I did receive my money. I received it two months after the show, which according to the contract is just within time,” she told the publication.

“When you sign a contract to go into the house, they specify that you get your money one to three months after the show, so it was well within the time frame that I had signed for. Those who say they have not received their money I am not sure about, but I certainly received mine almost a year ago.”

BBTitans, a fusion of Big Brother Mzansi and Big Brother Naija, featured 20 South African and Nigeria housemates who competed in various tasks and challenges, with the audience voting on who they wanted to stay in the game and ultimately win.

The publication has reached out to Lotto Star and Mzansi Magic for comment. Any update will be included once received.
