President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed former Zimbabwe National Army Commander Lieutenant-General David Sigauke as Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Lt-General Sigauke, who retired from the force in October of last year, will be taking over the position previously held by the late Johannes Tomana, who passed away in August.
In addition to Lt-General Sigauke’s appointment, President Mnangagwa also named Deputy Clerk of Parliament Helen Bangawe Dingani as the new ambassador to the Republic of Tanzania. Visitor Jerry Mutume was appointed as the Ambassador to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
These appointments were announced by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Martin Rushwaya, in the General Notices 432 A, 432B, and 432C of 2024, which were published in the Extraordinary Government Gazette last Friday.
