A heartbreaking video has emerged on social media, capturing the moment the body of Malawi’s Vice President Saulos Chilima was being loaded into a helicopter. The 51-year-old leader tragically passed away after the military aircraft he was travelling in crashed in a forest in northern Malawi.

The plane went missing after it failed to land at the Mzuzu International Airport, approximately 380 km north of the capital, Lilongwe. Chilima had been serving as the country’s vice president for 10 years, initially under former President Peter Mutharika, who had appointed him from the business sector to the second-highest position in the government.
Chilima was widely regarded as a charismatic and relatable politician, with a special connection to the people, especially the youth. He was known for his convincing demeanour, stylish dressing, and ability to connect with the younger generation through his communication style.
