In a distressing incident, a man from Bulawayo was recently dragged to court for brutally assaulting his wife after she caught him having ‘lula lula’ with his mistress.

Confrontation Leads to Violence
According to B-Metro, Melody Magagula caught her husband, John Magu, “in the act” with his lover at the mistress’ residence.
Speaking in court, Magagula recounted the painful moment, stating that when she questioned him about his affair, he began assaulting her.
“I had to rush there and caught my husband red-handed in a room with his girlfriend. When I quizzed him about what he was doing, he turned violent and severely bashed me,” she explained.
Magagula, who was pregnant at the time, suffered a miscarriage as a result of the assault.
“I was pregnant, and after that, I suffered a miscarriage, and now I’m in pain,” she added.
Magagula also revealed that her husband frequently accuses her of infidelity despite his indiscretions.
“He is the one cheating, but he keeps accusing me of being unfaithful,” she said.
Husband Denies Allegations, Blames Wife
In response, John Magu denied his wife’s allegations of physical abuse. He claimed that his wife is disrespectful and often resorts to violence herself.
“She is so cheeky, and she does not want to be reprimanded. When she lays her hands on anything, she hits me with it,” Magu stated in court.
Despite the accusations, Magu expressed that he still has feelings for his wife.
“Despite all that is happening in our marriage, I still love her and hope the situation will improve,” he said.
Protection Orders Granted
The presiding magistrate, Challenge Mahembe, granted Magagula a five-year protection order against her husband.
The order prohibits Magu from physically or verbally assaulting her. In a twist, Magu also applied for a protection order against his wife, claiming that she verbally and physically assaulted him.
Magistrate Mahembe granted Magu his request as well, preventing Magagula from emotionally or physically abusing her husband. Both protection orders are valid for five years.
