Paul was born in Zimbabwe to a family of entrepreneurs and educators. From a young age, Paul showed a keen interest in technology and innovation, often tinkering with gadgets and machines to understand how they worked.
Paul attended primary school in Zimbabwe before moving to South Africa for his secondary education. He later enrolled at the University of Cape Town, where he earned a degree in Computer Science. During his time at university, Paul was exposed to various programming languages and developed a passion for software development. He also honed his business skills through various entrepreneurial projects and internships.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Paul pursued an MBA from the University of Cape Town, specializing in Finance and Entrepreneurship. This further equipped him with the skills and knowledge to navigate the business world and identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
Paul’s career in technology began as a consultant at Accenture, where he worked on various projects in the financial services and telecommunications sectors. He later joined IBM as a director, leading teams in software development and sales. During his time at IBM, Paul developed expertise in digital transformation, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
In 2015, Paul decided to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams and founded Bergast House, a digital solutions company focused on innovation and customer-centricity. Under his leadership, Bergast House has grown to become a leading provider of digital solutions in Africa, serving clients in various industries, including finance, healthcare, and retail.
But what makes Paul truly special is his commitment to giving back to his community. He is a dedicated mentor and philanthropist, using his platform to empower young entrepreneurs and professionals to achieve their dreams. Paul has mentored numerous start-ups and small businesses, providing guidance and support to help them grow and succeed. He has also supported various initiatives aimed at promoting digital literacy and entrepreneurship in Africa.
Paul’s achievements are a testament to his hard work, determination, and generosity. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his contributions to the technology industry, including being named one of the “Top 40 under 40” entrepreneurs in Africa by Forbes Magazine.
