Sophisticated members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Nelspruit arrested a suspect after he allegedly posted social media comments that incited public violence.
The 36-year-old allegedly called for the country to be shut down and the president’s removal on a social media platform.
The Nelspruit-based serious and organized crime investigation body of the SAPS worked with crime intelligence to track and arrest him.
The suspect will face charges of contravening the Riotous Assemblies Act and the Cybercrimes Act.
He will make a court appearance before the Nelspruit Magistrates Court on Monday.
