‘Ngwere Rudziiko?” Leonard Dembo’s Widow Sends Warning To Silent Killer Over Late Mestro’s Song

Leonard Dembo’s widow, Mai Morgan, has sent a warning to Silent Killer for copying the late music icon’s song.

Mai Morgan shared a video which has gone viral online. She was charging Zimbabwean musicians against using Dembo’s music without permission.

Leonard Dembo’s Widow Sends Warning To Silent Killer Over Late Mestro’s Song

Last year, viral Zimdancehall chanter Silent Killer dropped his rendition of Musha Rudziiko by Leonard Dembo. He used his vocals on the Ndire Ndire instrumental by ZCC Mbungo Stars.

The funny song grabbed the attention of fans and became a favourite. He performs it to wild cheers whenever he is on stage.

Leonard Dembo’s widow is, however, unhappy over how musicians are abusing her husband’s music. She said if people want to remix Dembo’s songs, they must seek permission.

She said:

“Kune vaye vaye vanoita zvekuti heee Leonard Dembo akafa saka ndakuita zvandinoda nema songs ake. Unongodzura yakadaro ozongoisa zvima voice zvake zviya zvekuti anenge akutonyangadza song yakasiya yagadzirwa zvakanaka. Vanhu ivavo please tokumbirawo.

“Hatisi kuda zvekusungisana. Hatisi kuda kuita zve noise, hatisi kuda zvekurwa. Kana wafunga kuti unoda kuita nziyo ya Leonard, vana va Leonard varipo. Tendai aripo, Morgan aripo. Huya utaure navo vanokupa mvumo yekuti wanga wafunga kuita sei.“

Ngwere has yet to respond to the warning from Leonard Dembo’s widow.
