Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck was the first player revealed as part of Julian Nagelsmann’s 26-man squad for Euro 2024, German media reported on Sunday.
Football website Kicker, citing a source close to the German FA (DFB), reported that players will be unveiled individually before Thursday’s official announcement in Berlin to reduce the risk of leaks through other channels.
Schlotterbeck, 24, appeared twice for Germany at the World Cup in Qatar in 2022 but was dropped by Nagelsmann.
He came back into contention with impressive performances as Dortmund qualified for the Champions League final to face Real Madrid. Germany open Euro 2024 in Munich against Scotland on 14 June.
