Police Release Names of Victims of Mabvuku Accident as Death Toll Rises To Six

The Zimbabwe Republic police has released names of the victims who perished in the tragic Mabvuku road accident.

A truck was involved in an accident with two commuter omnibuses. The tragic accident happened on Tuesday evening around 5 PM along Donnybrook Road, Chizhanje area, Mabvuku, Harare.

Police Provide Details on Deadly Mabvuku Accident

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) share more details on the accident. The police revealed that the death has risen to six and that twelve others were injured.

According to the police report, a Howo truck with one passenger on board veered onto the oncoming traffic lane and side-swiped with a Toyota Hiace kombi with 13 passengers on board before having a head-on collision with another Toyota Hiace kombi with five passengers on board.

Victims’ Identities Revealed

The police also released the names of the victims who perished in the horror accident .

Felix Javha, a male adult of Hatfield, Harare.
Edinah Ndogwedu, a female adult of Riverside, Ruwa.
Tarisai Chigwande, a female adult of Odzi, Zimre Park, Harare.
Liberty Chitide, a male adult of Tafara, Harare.

The other two victims are yet to be identified by their next of kin.

Separate Accident on Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road

Meanwhile, in a separate incident the police revealed that three people died whilst ten others were injured in a road accident.

The accident happened at the 226-kilometre peg along Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road on 21st May 2024 at around 2200 hours.

According to the police report, an ERF truck with three passengers on board encroached onto the oncoming traffic lane resulting in a head-on collision with a Stallion Cruise Bus with 40 passengers on board.
