President Cyril Ramaphosa has expressed sadness following the passing of the founder of Rhema Bible Church, Ray McCauley.
The church announced his passing in a statement on Tuesday night.
The pastor’s son, Joshua McCauley, said that his father died peacefully at his home, surrounded by family and loved ones.
The president has sent his condolences to McCauley’s family, saying that his passing was a great loss to the religious sector.
“The president offers his deep condolences to Mrs Zelda McCauley, Pastor Ray’s children, the extended family and the family of the Rhema Bible Church,” said Presidency spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya.
