Prophet Madungwe Rejects US$3000 Offer From Killer Zivhu Despite Rent woes

Controversial cleric Prophet Talent Madungwe has rejected a US$3000 offer from Killer Zivhu even though he is facing trouble paying rent.

Over the past weeks, Madungwe has been in the news for failing to pay rent. His landlady contacted the media, complaining that Madungwe had not paid his dues for four months. She revealed that she had given the prophet an eviction notice, but he was almost running away without clearing the debt.

Madungwe later released a video admitting he has been experiencing financial difficulties. He said he has not been to Heaven and has been struggling since September 2023. He also claimed that God told him that he would be tested, just as Jesus had also been tried in the Bible.

Madungwe then appealed to influential Zimbabweans and the public to donate money to him so he could clear his rent arrears.

The controversial pastor has been counting down to his birthday, which is on the 18th of June. He has been mobilising people to donate money for his birthday celebrations.

Former Chivi South legislator Killer Zivhu pitched in and offered Madungwe US$3000 for his birthday. However, he had a complicated condition:

“Prophet on your birthday I promise to give you 3000 USD, kuti mubetsereke ne mhuri yenyu, on one condition, mondiratidzawo God’s pictures sezvo muchigara muchivaona Mwari, this is not a joke Prophet, ndoziva kuti munogona kumatora chero nhasi usiku.”

Madungwe has since responded to the offer:

“Aiwa haaaa [Killer] Zivhu request yenyu haikwanise kuitwa. We cannot take a picture of God because those are spiritually beings. Chingoblessai munhu wa Mwari ne US$3000 musi we birthday.”
