Sao Paulo players Wellington and Juan have both signed pre-contract agreements with Southampton, the English Premier League side announced Friday. The pair are now set to join the south coast club in January, when their current contracts with the Brazilian Serie A side expire.
Wellington, a 23-year-old left-back, has already made 150 appearances for Sao Paulo, including victories in the Copa do Brazil final in 2023 and the Supercopa do Brazil final in 2024.
He has also represented Brazil at Under-20 and Under-23 level. Juan, a 22-year-old-forward, has scored eight goals in 80 appearances for Sao Paulo and has also represented Brazil at Under-19 level.
Southampton returned to the Premier League after beating English giants Leeds 1-0 in the Championship play-off final at Wembley in May.

The popular South African TV show Uzalo‘s experiencing a significant drop in viewership. This is despite still leading the ratings according to the latest figures from the Broadcast Research Council of South Africa (BRCSA).
As of June 2024, Uzalo, produced by Stained Glass Production co-owned by Gugu Zuma-Ncube, daughter of former president Jacob Zuma, has seen its viewership decrease from 5 228 549 in May 2024 to 4 997 824. Read more
