National police spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe explains: “I can confirm that our members have collected all evidence from the scene. They have interviewed key witnesses and community members. They remain hard at work in analyzing all available information and they are following up on all leads. We are confident that we will affect the necessary arrests soon. We are not rushing our detectives and our forensic teams that have been on the ground since this incident happened. So we are not putting undue pressure on them, we do not want mistakes. We are avoiding unlawful arrests.
On Tuesday Morning, they will start with a visit to the affected families. They will engage the community but most importantly, they will meet with the teams that have been on the ground since Saturday to get a progress report on how far we are in tracing those that are behind this heinous attack. This follows after Seventeen people were killed and one person seriously wounded in the two incidents which happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.
