Popular Mzansi reality TV star and businesswoman, MaMkhize aka Shauwn Mkhize (nee Mpisane) often hogged the headlines over her alleged dodgy business dealings and fraud conviction, before finding favour.
And those allegations of her criminal past will be explored in a sit-down interview with Carte Blanche this Sunday.
A clip of what’s in store in the explosive expose has been posted on social media.
In a clip posted on their X account, MaMkhize is seen answering some difficult questions about her past.
“You were found guilty of fraud,” Carte Blanche journalist Govan Whittles asks the flashy star.
She responds defensively: “But it can’t be me because that wasn’t me… it’s the company”.

The 49-year-old – who recently celebrated her birthday – is referring to a 2005 conviction for VAT fraud.
In 2013, MaMkhize – then married to Metro Cop turned tenderprenuer Sbu Mpisane – was arrested on charges of fraud and forgery.
According to IOL, after supplying false information to the Construction Industry Development Board, the Durban businesswoman was awarded over R140m worth of government tenders through Zikhulise Cleaning, Maintenance, and Transport.
The tenders were made for several low-cost housing projects over the years.
The charges were later dropped after the state failed to provide a forensic report.
In another case, MaMkhize faced 119 counts of tax fraud of up to R5 million for submitting fake invoices. She later blamed the oversight on her bookkeeper, Kishal Reddy, who pleaded guilty while she pleaded not guilty.
According to Mail & Guardian, she was also charged with corruption for allegedly trying to persuade a state witness in one of her tax fraud cases to tamper with evidence.
All charges were later withdrawn, and Shauwn walked out of the court as a free woman.
Despite her charges and previous conviction, MaMkhize received over R1 billion over the years in government tenders, claimed the Sunday Times.
“Glitz, glamour and fraud…Can fame and fortune get you a clean slate?” Carte Blanche said of the upcoming episode.
When it comes to MaMkhize and her ex-husband, Sbu Mpisane, there are plenty of skeletons in their closet.
They include:
- Lavish parties at their La Lucia mansion featuring a questionable VIP list of political connections
- Friendship with Minister of Police Bheki Cele, who appeared on her yacht in an Instagram post last year
- Allegations on non-payment of Royal AM players and staff in 2023
- Handing out cash to the players following a match in 2021
- Owing Sars “millions” in tax
- Having their home raided by the Asset Forfeiture Unit in 2013
- Shoddy construction work undertaken by their company as part of their lucrative housing contracts.
