Stefan Savic leaves Atletico to join Trabzonspor

Stefan Savic has left Atletico Madrid after nine years at the LaLiga club and signed for Trabzonspor, the Turkish Super Lig club announced on Friday. Montenegro international Savic, 33, joined Atletico in 2015.

The defender played nearly 300 matches across nine seasons and won the Spanish league title in 2021 as well as the Europa League and the Super Cup in 2018. He arrived. He fought. He conquered our hearts. Stefan Savic. One of us,” said Atletico in a post on X.

Savic spent the 2011-12 season at Premier League side Manchester City, where he won a league title, before moving to Serie A club Fiorentina. He now joins Trabzonspor, the fourth-most decorated club in Turkish football and 2022 league champions, on a three-year deal.
