The Record Defeat

The Zimbabwean welterweight mixed martial artist experienced a significant setback at UFC 310. He faced Luque and was defeated in just 52 seconds, marking the fastest loss in UFC history. Luque caught Gorimbo off guard with a series of strikes and then locked in a tight anaconda choke, forcing Gorimbo to tap out early in the bout.

Despite the abrupt defeat, Gorimbo remains optimistic about his future in the UFC. He is determined to bounce back stronger and continue his journey in the welterweight division.

However, not everyone has been hyping him to keep his spirits up. Some Zimbabweans celebrated his loss on social media, saying it was a humbling experience. Those elated by the loss are some who were offended by his jabs at Winky D months ago. Also, some celebrating the loss claimed he disparaged Zimbabweans, claiming they are lazy since the economy is performing well.

Themba Gorimbo took note of the mixed reactions to his loss and addressed people celebrating his loss.

He spoke in a video on his social media:

I know some of you are smiling. I hope your life is great because mine is really good. God has blessed me to be here and I want to keep on working hard. Try what I do and see if this is easy. To those who are celebrating because I lost, I love you guys. Life is good. I went to sleep, but I’m up now.

People online reacted to the message from Themba.

Jeff:

Themba, you cannot sleep on the job, man! Just kidding, brother! 😃 You’re a massive inspiration. How you’re handling the loss is great. Obviously it’s tough, but moving forward, better and stronger.

Dunken:

Themba, don’t worry about it. It’s part of the game; even the greatest boxer of all time, in my view, the one and only Muhammad Ali, lost some matches.

Mike:

Ane noise painternet yange yakutibhowa. Kuita kunge Mai TT.

Terry:
