Ten Zimbabweans Killed, Thirty Injured after Mzansi Express Bus Overturns in Limpopo Road Accident
In a tragic incident, ten Zimbabwean nationals died while thirty others where injured in a road accident after a Mzansi Express bus overturned near Makhado town in Limpopo province, South Africa.
The bus was en route from Bulawayo to Gauteng province when the accident occurred.

Details of the Incident
According to the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety, the accident took place on the N1 highway, on Tuesday night just before midnight.
“Limpopo Member of Executive Committee (MEC), Ms. Violet Mathye, has learned with sadness about the deaths of 10 passengers who perished in a bus accident that took place near 3 Miles on the N1 around Makhado,” reads the statement.
The bus, travelling from Zimbabwe to Johannesburg, lost control after driving over a roundabout at high speed.
“The bus drove over a roundabout (the last traffic circle from Makhado towards Polokwane) at high speed, lost control, and overturned, killing and injuring its passengers in the process,” the statement read.
Five men and five women died in the accident and all the deceased were Zimbabwe nationals.
Injuries and Response
30 people were reportedly injured in the deadly accident. The Department confirmed that the injured passengers have been transported to various hospitals for treatment.
“Several injured passengers have been taken to different hospitals,” the statement noted
MEC Violet Mathye expressed her condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to those hospitalized.
“The MEC has also sent her condolences to the bereaved families and wished those hospitalized a speedy recovery,” the Department added.
