Tragic Mabvuku Road Accident Claims Five Lives

In a tragic development five people died in horrific road accident in Mabvuku.

The road traffic accident happened at Donnybrook Road, Chizhanje area, Mabvuku, yesterday evening.

Zimbabwe Republic Police Confirms Mabvuku Road Accident

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has finally confirmed the tragic incident on their official social media handle.

According to a police statement, a lorry was involved in a head on collision with a commuter omnibus. Subsequently, another commuter omnibus also rammed onto the back of the first commuter omnibus.

Unfortunately five people died on the spot while several others were injured.

Public Outcry and Condolences on Social Media

The tragic accident has got social media buzzing with mixed reactions. Netizens passed their condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the accident. Some social media users have however come out to blame communter omnibus drivers for reckless driving.

Separate Hit-and-Run Incident in Bulawayo

Meanwhile in a separate incident, the police in Bulawayo are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a hit and run road traffic accident which happened in the 19th of May 2024

A yet-to-be-identified man died after being hit by an unknown motorist along JMN Nkomo Street.

The deceased victim who is approximately +/- 30 years and was wearing a green cap, black t-shirt, black trousers, black Nike shoes and was carrying a khaki satchel when accident happened. The body was taken to Mpilo Hospital mortuary for post mortem.

The police implored on anyone who might have information on the accident to report at any nearest Police Station.
