Western Cape residents have been urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety amid disruptive weather.

Torrential rains and freezing temperatures persist across the Western Cape, leaving thousands of residents displaced and other communities cut off.

Western Cape Premier, Alan Winde says officials are doing all they can to ensure residents’ safety.

The City of Cape Town is said to be the most affected in the by severe weather conditions in the Western Cape.

That’s according to the provincial disaster management team that’s been responding to weather-related incidents.

Three rivers burst their banks amid the ongoing storms.

The Disaster Management team says over 100 schools have been affected by the disruptive weather.
