What Happened to Batista: Former WWE Superstar Explains Dramatic Weight Loss
Dave Bautista, famously known as Batista, has been making headlines recently due to a significant weight loss leading many to speculate about his health. However, fans will be pleased to know that the weight loss is not due to health concerns, but rather his preparation for an upcoming film role.
Bautista shed an impressive amount of weight for his role in The Killer’s Game, an action-comedy film where he stars as Joe Flood. To prepare, he undertook an intense diet regime, dropping down to 240 pounds (17 stone). This is a notable transformation, considering that during his wrestling career, Bautista weighed around 290 pounds and at his heaviest, reached 370 pounds.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Bautista explained the process behind his weight loss, revealing that his journey began during his preparation for Knock at the Cabin, where he initially weighed 315 pounds. Shedding the weight, however, was no easy task, and he referred to it as a “nightmare.” Now, he’s meticulous about his diet, emphasizing how this is the lightest he’s been since his teenage years.
“I’m getting super trimmed, this is probably the lightest I’ve been since I was 19 years old. The heaviest I’ve ever been is 370lbs (26st). When I started Deacon, I was about 325lbs (23st). Throughout most of my wrestling career I was about 290lbs (21st). Now I’m about 240lbs (17st). And I went a year and a half ago for Knock at the Cabin, I went 315lbs (23st). And that’s when the nightmare started. Getting that weight off, which has been a challenge. Now I’m really particular about my diet,” Batista told Chris Van Vliet.
