Senzo Meyiwa was killed a decade ago in Vosloorus while visiting her then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo at her mother’s place in 2014. The case is still in the courts, with many hoping for a positive outcome.
However, the case seemingly had its breakthrough in 2020 when five men were nabbed in connection with the murder of Senzo Meyiwa.
Since then, the case has had its twists and turns, capped with drama. However, several justice experts have noted the progress in the case over the last few years.
Criminal justice expert Ulrich le Roux is hopeful that things will change.
However, on his 10th anniversary, eNCA had an exclusive interview with Zandie Khumalo, who shared her two cents as she recounted the fateful night Senzo Meyiwa died.
During the interview, Zandie Khumalo said that Mandisa Mkhize should also be investigated.
She made it known that Mandisa, who seemingly comes from the same area where the hitmen reside, should be a point of concern.
Zandie Khumalo said, ‘It has been discovered that the hitmen are from KwaNongoma. Mandisa is from KwaNongoma.”
She revealed that the right men are being prosecuted but insisted that her sister Kelly Khumalo was not involved, as tabloids alleged.
During a court sitting, the court heard that Kelly Khumalo was in contact with one of the alleged criminals.
Cellphone data also revealed that she was in contact with one of the criminals before the incident happened.
The damning evidence has since left many convinced that she should testify before the court.
Mandisa Mkhize
According to reports, Senzo Meyiwa was married to Mandisa Mkhize at the time of his death.
The two share a 16-year-old daughter named Nana. At the time of Senzo Meyiwa’s death, she was only 6 years old.
A few months ago, it was reported that Mandisa Mkhize, who has managed to keep her private life under wraps since the death of Meyiwa, is set to tie the knot again.
However, against the trends, she did not openly confirm the news.
Kelly Khumalo
Two years after Senzo Meyiwa’s death Kelly Khumalo was reportedly in a relationship with a popular KwaZulu-Natal traditional healer Bhaka.
According to reports, Kelly Khumalo briefly dated – and became engaged – to Chad Da Don in 2018 following a whirlwind romance.
Two years later, she was in a relationship with Chad da Don. Over the years, she has been rumoured to have been in a string of relationships.
In 2022, her relationship with former Kaizer Chiefs star Mthokozisi Yende went public. The two reportedly welcomed their bundle of joy a few months later.
