Recent Nationwide Power Outage

This announcement comes just over a week after Zimbabwe experienced a nationwide blackout.

In a statement dated 18 December, ZESA Holdings attributed the outage to a system imbalance on international power connectors, which disrupted the national grid and affected parts of the Southern African region.

The power failure, which occurred at 12:55 PM during scheduled load-shedding in many residential areas, forced businesses in city centres and industrial zones to rely on backup generators and solar power to maintain operations.
