ZPCS Denies Special Recruitment for People Living With Albinism

The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) has refuted claims that it is holding a special recruitment drive for people living with albinism.

On Thursday, a message circulated on WhatsApp claiming that the ZPCS is holding a special recruitment exercise for people living with albinism.

Fake Recruitment Message Circulating on WhatsApp

The notice which was in the form of text went on to state that the ZPCS was looking to recruit males and females ages 18-30 years with 5 Ordinary Level passes. The notice instructed interested applicants to contact Chief Superintendent Marango for more information The message claimed that it was forwarded as received.

ZPCS Dismisses Special Recruitment for People Living With Albinism

In a statement shared on its X (formerly Twitter) account, ZPCS dismissed the job advert as fake.

“It has come to our attention that a false and misleading message is circulating on WhatsApp, claiming that the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service is conducting a special recruitment for people living with albinism. This message is completely fabricated and fraudulent,” part of the statement reads.

ZPCS Reaffirms Commitment to Fair Hiring Practices
