Zimbabweans Arrested In South Africa For Spiking Cars And Robbing Motorists In Tshwane

It has been revealed that Zimbabweans are responsible for spiking cars and terrorising motorists in Tshwane after their arrest.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has revealed to eNCA that five of the eleven individuals recently detained for alleged criminal activities are Zimbabwean nationals.
As the investigation proceeds, law enforcement will thoroughly examine the legal residency status of these individuals within the country.
In the wake of several attacks along the N1, N4, and R80 highways in Tshwane, authorities acted on intelligence reports regarding a group of suspects active in the region.

Swift action by the Tshwane District’s law enforcement led to the capture of ten suspects in Winterveldt, north of Pretoria. During the arrest, one suspect resisted, confronting the police with a firearm. In response, officers discharged a single shot, resulting in the suspect’s death.

Further investigation revealed that the deceased had connections to four robbery cases in Pretoria North, with accusations including firearm offences and rape. These individuals are also suspected of orchestrating criminal activities along the R80, N1, and N4 corridors.

Further Arrests and Findings

Among those detained, one woman was identified as the operator of an illegal shabeen, which allegedly served as a rendezvous point for the suspects. Investigations also suggest that three other detainees might be linked to the R80 attacks.

During the operation, authorities seized a black replica firearm along with various items associated with the crimes.
