Zimbabwe’s representative, Sakhile Dube, made the country proud by securing a spot in the Top 30 semifinals at the 73rd Miss Universe pageant held in Mexico City. Despite facing stiff competition from over 80 contestants, Dube, a qualified psychologist, showcased her confidence and poise in the swimsuit parade and wowed the audience with her stunning national costume, “The Soaring Eagle.” Although she narrowly missed the Top 12, Dube secured second place in the popular vote, thanks to the overwhelming support from Zimbabweans.

The Miss Universe 2024 pageant was notable for its inclusivity, featuring a record 125 countries and territories, and removing age, height, and weight restrictions. The event saw a diverse group of participants, including mothers and married women. Victoria Theilvig of Denmark took home the crown, with Chidimma Adetshina of Nigeria as the first runner-up. Other finalists included representatives from Mexico, Thailand, and Venezuela.

Dube’s achievement is a testament to her dedication and hard work.
