Zimbabweans are buzzing with excitement after armed robbers targeted the homestead of Chief Marupi in Gwanda South, stealing a brand new Isuzu he had received from President Emmerson Mnangagwa just two weeks ago.
How Armed Robbers Stole From Chief Marupi
According to a report from VOA Studio 7, the robbery occurred on Thursday, when the intruders stormed Chief Marupi’s home and took the vehicle, along with two mobile phones and R3,200 in cash. Relatives of the chief told VOA that the robbers tied him up with ropes and wires before fleeing with their loot. Police are currently investigating the incident.

Instead, they openly celebrated the incident, with some wishing for similar outcomes for other traditional leaders. Some argued that the robbers should not be arrested, claiming they were simply taking their rightful share from the chief. Others speculated that the robbery could have been an inside job.
