ZIMRA Introduces Mandatory Tax Clearance Certificates for Professionals

The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has introduced a new requirement for professionals in various fields to obtain tax clearance certificates. This mandate, effective immediately, affects architects, engineers, technicians, land surveyors, legal practitioners, auditors and accountants. The requirement stems from recent amendments to the Income Tax Act through Finance Act No. 2 of 2024.

To comply with the new regulation, professionals must secure a valid tax clearance certificate issued within the last 30 days to be registered with their respective professional bodies. This measure ensures that professionals meet their tax obligations and maintain good standing with ZIMRA.
