South African Minister of Electricity Kgosientsho ‘Sputla’ Ramokgopa was on Podcast and Chill Episode 544 on Thursday, 4 April, and viewers were left in stitches after the podcast’s hosts MacG and Sol pulled a jaw-dropping prank on the minister.
The minister was not ready for what MacG real name Macgyver Mukwevho, Solomzi “Sol” Phenduka, and Ghost Lady had in store for him when he accepted an interview to be on their show.
While on the show, the beloved podcasters fired several questions at the minister. At one point, the Minister of Electricity was even put on the spot and asked to rank himself on a scale from one to ten, how corrupt he was… And in case you are wondering what the minister said, the answer was “zero”.
The questions become more interesting and quite relevant to South Africans when MacG asked the minister to shed some light on when load shedding will end.
“Well, I am not in a position to provide a fixed date… To be brutally honest, the scale of the problem is huge [and] more than what meets the eye,” Kgosientsho Ramokgopa said.
Midway through his explanation, the lights at the Podcast and Chill studio suddenly went off, leaving many to believe that the cause was due to load shedding.

But that was merely a silly prank by the mischievous podcasters who wanted to pull the minister’s leg and give him a taste of his own medicine.
However, the minister was as cool as a cucumber during the joke. Instead, he reassured everyone that load shedding was currently suspended. He then jokingly called out MacG for setting him up.
The Citizen has reported that Eskom announced that load shedding would remain suspended until further notice. According to the publication, the electricity company said they “will provide a system update on Friday or communicate any significant changes should they occur.”
