Kwazulu-Natal’s Public Works and Infrastructure Department will rope in experts to assist the eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality with fixing ageing infrastructure.
This is amid vandalism at its pump station, causing sewer spillages into the sea.
Public Works and Infrastructure MEC Martin Meyer said: “We are very happy to play a supporting role if we have to provide and assist them through experts, and if we have to bring in experts we are very happy to do so.”
He said the current coalition government is committed to delivering services in the province.
“One very great thing about this government of unity is this bigger spirit of cooperation and co-governance in the province.”
