Zimbabweans are applauding the recently appointed Minister Sanyatwe of his hands-on approach to overseeing things in his ministry.
Minister Sanyatwe Demands Action and Accountability
The minister didn’t mince words when addressing delays in the water reticulation and drainage system upgrades. He questioned contractors on all the equipment that were supposed to be on the site.
Though the visit was officially led by Presidential Adviser Dr. Jorum Gumbo, the hands-on minister took control of proceedings, systematically engaging each contractor for specific completion deadlines. Most teams committed to finishing their assigned projects by late July.

Demonstrating his preference for firsthand verification over reports, Sanyatwe insisted on inspecting purchased equipment. This revealed discrepancies, particularly with a backup generator that contractors claimed was on-site but couldn’t produce when challenged.
“Where is this generator that’s supposed to be installed here?” the minister demanded during his encounter with the electrical systems contractor, highlighting his commitment to factual verification.
