World Vision International Zimbabwe (Registration No. PVO 26/79), a leading humanitarian and development organization, is inviting bids from qualified individuals and organizations to undertake a Mid-Term Evaluation Study for the Mbire Area Programme. This opportunity is ideal for consultants or research institutions with proven experience in project evaluations and a passion for promoting child well-being (CWB) in vulnerable communities.

About the Mbire Area Programme Mid-Term Evaluation

Since its inception, the Mbire Area Programme has aimed to uplift the lives of children and communities through various development initiatives. The mid-term evaluation is a critical exercise designed to assess the progress made to date, identify impact areas, and determine how well local communities and partners are equipped to sustain the positive changes beyond the programme’s lifespan.

Key Objectives of the Study

The evaluation will focus on answering the following:

  • What progress has been made toward achieving programme objectives since the last implementation phase?

  • What is the current status of Child Well-Being (CWB) indicators at this mid-point?

  • How capable are local organizations (government agencies, community groups, children’s organizations, churches, and other partners) in sustaining and improving CWB outcomes after the programme transitions?

Required Qualifications and Experience

World Vision Zimbabwe seeks a consultant or institution with a multidisciplinary team possessing the following attributes:

  • Advanced degree in Social Sciences, Education, Livelihoods, Agriculture, Child Protection, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in conducting project evaluations, including the development of impactful case studies.

  • Robust research portfolio, demonstrating expertise in both qualitative and quantitative methods.

  • Participatory research experience, especially with children and vulnerable communities, with strong adherence to ethical standards in development work.

  • A clear methodology to amplify the voices of children and marginalized groups throughout the evaluation process.

  • Demonstrated capacity to complete the study within agreed timelines.

Interested consultants or organizations must submit their bids by 14 May 2025. Applicants should include a detailed proposal, team qualifications, methodology, timeframe, and relevant references from past assignments.
