Diana Chikotesha, the reigning COSAFA female referee of the year, has added another feather to her cap by graduating with a Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sports from the University of Zambia.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in Chikotesha’s career, which has already been filled with numerous accolades and firsts. In 2023, she made history by becoming the first female referee to officiate as a second assistant referee in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). She also became the first female on-pitch match official to feature in a men’s AFCON final.
Chikotesha’s achievements don’t stop there. She has also officiated at the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, and has been recognized as one of the top female referees in the continent.
