Zimbabwe Cricket has suspended two players, Blessed Muzite and Brighton Chipungu, from the National Premier League and all cricket activities pending a hearing. The two players tested positive for marijuana during a recent in-house doping test.
Muzite, a batter for the Scorpions, and Chipungu, a bowler for Takashinga Patriots 2, will appear before a disciplinary committee to face charges related to recreational drug use. This incident comes after two other Zimbabwean cricketers, Wessly Madhevere and Brandon Mavuta, were suspended in December 2023 for breaching anti-doping rules.
