About the Role

Abt Global seeks a highly experienced Finance and Administration Manager to provide leadership and oversight for financial, procurement, HR, logistics, and administrative operations for the PMI Evolve Project in Zimbabwe. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with USAID and Abt standards. You’ll lead a skilled team and manage systems that support life-saving malaria prevention interventions.

About the Project

The PMI Evolve Project, funded by the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative (PMI) and USAID, is a flagship initiative working to reduce malaria burden and promote sustainable malaria control in Africa. Abt has been a key partner since 2011, delivering IRS, ITN, LSM, and entomological surveillance programs across 21 countries. The project emphasizes local partnerships and capacity strengthening to sustain gains in malaria control.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Oversight & Compliance

  • Manage project bank accounts, payroll, cash flow, and taxation

  • Oversee accounting closeouts and ensure all expenditures meet USAID and Abt policies

  • Prepare accurate funding requests, forecasts, and financial reports

Budget Management

  • Develop and monitor project budgets and workplans

  • Track expenditure and collaborate with procurement on budget-aligned purchases

  • Provide cost-control strategies and financial analysis

Administration & Logistics

  • Lead procurement and inventory processes

  • Support travel, visa processing, and local/international logistics

  • Maintain accurate property and asset records

Leadership & HR Management

  • Recruit, train, and supervise finance and operations staff

  • Lead performance development and ensure team compliance with policies

  • Coordinate closely with the global support team on all operational aspects

Reporting & Audits

  • Prepare client and corporate reports, including VAT, NXP, and cost studies

  • Support financial audits and contractual deliverables

  • Ensure internal and external reporting accuracy

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s + 12 years, Master’s + 10 years, or PhD + 8 years of relevant experience

  • Extensive experience with USG-funded project finance and operations management

Preferred:

  • Master’s in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration

  • Strong skills in Excel, QuickBooks, and financial analysis

  • Prior experience with USAID Cost Accounting Standards

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Fluency in English
