The Constitutional Court has dismissed the MK Party’s bid to stop the first sitting of Parliament.
This means the National Assembly will convene on Friday to elect a new President.
The Apex Court found Jacob Zuma’s party did not comply with requirements for direct access to it.
But, looking at the application, the court found it had no merit.
It also found that papers were filed too late and showed no justification for the delay.
Meanwhile, parties are still scrambling to reach an agreement on a Government of National Unity.
The IFP is the latest to say it will join the ANC to co-govern the country.
