Why Inkhosikati Nomcebo Zuma Fled: King Mswati Allegedly Had Tlof With Zuma’s Daughter For 3 Months

It looks like not all royal marriages come with fairy-tale endings.

King Mswati III of Eswatini, known for his polygamous lifestyle and status as Africa’s last absolute monarch, reportedly lost the attention of his latest wife,  Inkhosikati Nomcebo LaZuma, daughter of former South African President Jacob Zuma, just three months into the marriage.

According to a report by the Swaziland News, Nomcebo packed her bags and fled the royal palace, allegedly telling those close to her that she simply couldn’t cope with going months without seeing her husband. After that initial story broke, it was picked up by major media outlets across South Africa and internationally.

When approached for comment, the King’s spokesperson Percy Simelane washed his hands of the matter. He said his job only covers the King’s public life, not what happens behind palace doors. “I don’t deal with the King’s private matters,” he said, distancing himself from the drama.

But insiders within the palace painted a more emotional picture. They claimed King Mswati usually dotes on his new wives until they fall pregnant, then shifts his focus. But in Nomcebo’s case, that attention reportedly fizzled out after three months, leaving her distressed and heartbroken.

“She was so frustrated and angry such that, she even accused her bodyguards of stealing her jewellery, that was later found. It was clear that the polygamous marriage was so frustrating to her as she wanted to be with her husband full time,” said the royal insider.

A close friend of Nomcebo confirmed she’s still processing the experience and might speak out once she’s emotionally ready. “It was painful for her,” the friend said.

Meanwhile, things have reportedly been tense in Nkandla. A royal delegation has been trying to meet with former President Zuma, but he’s allegedly not interested in hearing them out. He had reservations about the marriage from the beginning, sources say, and only gave in because his daughter insisted.

King Mswati is no stranger to headlines about his love life — with more than 14 wives and over 50 children, his royal household is already crowded. But this latest royal fallout might be one of the more public embarrassments for the palace.
