Mzansi reacts to Cassper Nyovest’s cheap ‘R37 000’ wedding

Well-known Mzansi rapper, Cassper Nyovest’s wedding to Pulane Mojaki has sparked a debate on whether the big-baller rapper cut costs at the ceremony or if he intentionally went for a “small and simple” celebration.

Some have even joked that the event cost “R37 000, including lobola”.

The nuptials came as a surprise to many, given that the hitmaker was last romantically linked to his baby mama, Thobeka Majozi.

On the X app, Cassper Nyovest’s lowkey wedding ceremony had many fans scratching their heads.

For many, the move was uncharacteristic of the rapper, who is used to flaunting his cars, mansion, and star-studded parties.

From the wedding invitation and programme to the bridal outfits, venue, and decor, much of the criticism has been on the star’s “low-budget” nuptials.”

Notorious X troll Chris Excel tweeted: “Cassper Nyovest is a millionaire, but he spent R37K for a wedding, including lobola, to marry a baddie”.

Here are some of the reactions:

@Lee24819878: “The success of marriage has nothing to do with the size of the celebration.”

@theHirohito: “These small weddings last forever.”

@AustineMsagala: “Be it a small or big wedding, it’s just a wedding. What counts is the marriage. So after all this, their marriage begins.”

@oscar_blaauw: “I love the fact that regardless of the money and status, Cassper Nyovest and Pulane opted to have a simple wedding surrounded by both his and her family members rather than celebrities.

Others are not convinced that Cassper Nyovest’s wedding is real and is merely a marketing ploy or shoot for a music video.

Not much is known about his relationship with Pulane Mojaki.

According to TimesLive, Pulane is a childhood friend who grew up with Cassper in Mahikeng. The publication claims Pulane previously “friend-zoned” Cassper but has now given him a second chance.

It’s unclear when the couple started dating.

Earlier this year, the hitmaker claimed his“sex addiction” broke up his relationship with Majozi. Cassper made the confession during an appearance on Mpoomy Ledwaba’s The Wisdom & Wellness Podcast.

He said: “I created a serious mess.”

“I hurt my baby mama so much. We broke up, and I have been single for two years. I just carried on living this life.”

Cassper made no mention of Pulane Mojaki during the interview.
