Prophet Walter Magaya’s YADAH FC has been handed a substantial fine of US$82,000 by FIFA, the world soccer governing body, for violating protocols during the signing of three Brazilian players. The players in question are Joao Pedro, Luciano Farias, and Pereira de Brito.
According to FIFA, YADAH FC breached contractual agreements when they terminated the players’ contracts in May, which were initially set to run until 2025. The Brazilian trio subsequently approached FIFA, leading to an investigation and the subsequent fine.
YADAH FC has been given an ultimatum to pay the fine by July 27 or risk facing severe consequences, including a ban on registering new players. Additionally, Prophet Walter Magaya has been ordered by FIFA to compensate the affected players.
This development comes as a significant setback for YADAH FC, which has been working to establish itself as a formidable force in Zimbabwean football. The club’s management will need to act swiftly to resolve this issue and avoid further sanctions from FIFA.
FIFA’s decision serves as a reminder to clubs worldwide of the importance of adhering to contractual agreements and following proper protocols when dealing with player transfers.
