Jordan Zemura and Teenage Hadebe, both Warriors players, are relieved after their teams Udinese and Tümosan Konyaspor narrowly escaped relegation from Serie A and Super Lig respectively. Zemura expressed his delight, stating that they worked hard to remain in the prestigious league.
In contrast, Warriors captain Marvelous Nakamba’s team Luton Town was relegated from the English Premier League after just one season.
Udinese and Konyaspor’s survival is a significant achievement for the two Zimbabwean players, who played crucial roles in their teams’ campaigns. Zemura’s Udinese finished 17th in Serie A, just one point above the relegation zone, while Hadebe’s Konyaspor secured safety with a 2-1 win over Gaziantep on the final day of the season.
Nakamba’s Luton Town, however, could not avoid the drop, finishing 20th in the Premier League with just 35 points from 38 matches. Despite this setback, Nakamba remains a key player for the Warriors and will be expected to lead the team in their upcoming matches.
